Kyoto in 4 seasons - Last Post

For all those who have been visiting my blog during these 1 year and 5 months, thank you very much! I would like to post my 4 last pictures, showing the beauty of Kyoto in 4 seasons... I hope you like them!

Spring
"Sakura in Kyoto Gosho". The flowers in this photo are sakura (cherry blossom), the symbol of the Japanese spring and the place in the background is the wall of the Kyoto Imperial Palace (Kyoto Gosho). Spring is the best season in Kyoto: the temperature is very pleasant and sakura is virtually anywhere in Kyoto. Sakura can be seen in most public places, and as the flower of a sakura tree does not last for quite long, it makes the beauty of the flower even more special.

Summer
"Gozan No Okuribi". This is one of the most popular events in Kyoto during summer, realized every year in August. This mountain is one of the symbols of Kyoto (the Chinese character reads "Dai" and means "big").

Autumn
"Momiji in Toufukuji". Toufukuji (Toufuku Temple) is probably the most popular sightseeing for momiji (red leaves) in Kyoto. Kyoto is famous not only for its temples, but also for its sakura in spring and momiji in autumn.

Winter
"Snowy Kinkakuji". Kinkakuji (Golden Pavilion) is one of the most famous temples in Japan. One of the best views of this temple is during autumn or winter, right after a snowfall. The impact when one sees Kinkakuji is an unforgettable experience. The architecture is very impressive, as well as its equilibrium with the surrounding nature.

Blogs written in English

As I will update this blog just a few more times, there are some blogs I read, written by people who are living in Japan, that I would like to recommend. There are several others I read, but those are not in English :( In the right-hand side of my blog, there is a list entitled "Blogs written in English by those living in Japan", where I added them in alphabetical order; just click there and have fun: photos and texts are really great!
